1.  You can only sign your child up for one Science Club.  Club Tuesday Science and Club Wednesday Science are duplicate lessons.  

​2.  Below are the descriptions for January/February Club Wednesday.  

3.  Club spots will be filled in the order the child's online registration form is submitted to us.  Payment must be completed by clicking on the Club Wednesday payment link once you complete the registration.   Payment is made through paypal with a credit card.  

4.  If the club you select is full when we get to your child's online registration form, we will call or email you to see if you want a different club option.  

5.  Club Wednesday is only available for the children enrolled in a 3 year old or 4 year old VPK class.  

6.  Registration will go live on our website on Wednesday, December 10th at 10:00 a.m.

 WINTER STEAM 

 (LIMITED TO 18 CHILDREN)

JANUARY 7TH:  SAVE THE FROZEN ARCTIC ANIMALS-- The animals are trapped, and we'll need to free them and build a bridge to help them get to safety! We will learn about the states of matter and do some critical thinking to save the animals!

JANUARY 14TH:  DESIGN A SNOWBALL LAUNCHER -- A homemade snowball launcher is a fantastic way to explore the physics of motion while having fun! This simple STEM activity demonstrates Newton's laws of motion, which explain how objects move. This is a fantastic way to enjoy a snowball fight indoors or outdoors-even when there's no snow!

JANUARY 21ST:  MAGIC SALT AND WATERCOLOR SNOWFLAKE ART -- In this beautiful STEAM project we will combine art and chemistry! We'll explore absorption, crystallization, and the dispersion of pigments as the watercolor interacts with the salt, providing a hands-on basic chemistry and physics lesson. 

JANUARY 28TH:  NO CLASS THIS WEEK DUE TO A STAFF MEETING.

FEBRUARY 4TH:  VALENTINE'S BUBBLE SCIENCE -- This fun Valentine bubble science activity is perfect for engaging kids and getting them interested in science! Using bubbles is a great way to naturally provide opportunities for open-ended inquiry and exploration-important scientific skills that will set the stage for future success in school and life.

FEBRUARY 11TH:  VALENTINE'S DAY LOVE POTION  -- Do you want to add a little science to Valentine's Day? We will explore liquid density and learn a little bit of physics and chemistry along the way!

FEBRUARY 18TH:  VALENTINE'S DAY ELEPHANT TOOTHPASTE -- This Valentine's Day science experiment is the perfect opportunity for tons of hands-on play and exploration. We'll use simple ingredients to create a fun and "foamy" exothermic chemical reaction.  LAST CLASS FOR THIS SESSION.

JANUARY 7TH:  FUZZY MITTENS-- Baby, it's cold outside! Today, we will create some warm, colorful fuzzy mittens!

JANUARY 14TH:  SNOWFLAKES-- It snowed last night, and our tree is covered in sparkly snowflakes.

JANUARY 21ST:  WIZE OWLS-- Our wintry, wise owl knows whooo loves him- WE DOOOOO!!!!

JANUARY 28TH:  NO CLASS THIS WEEK DUE TO A STAFF MEETING. 

FEBRUARY 4TH:  POLAR BEAR-- Our fuzzy, furry friend, the polar bear is joining in our wintry fun! How much fur can we cover him with?

FEBRUARY 11TH:  HEART-FUL PENGUIN-- A happy, heart-ful penguin, that we make with love, will follow us home today. 

FEBRUARY 18TH:  ONE-OF-A-KIND-- We will make some one-of-a-kind snowflakes today each unique like us!!  LAST CLASS FOR THIS SESSION.


                       WINTER & VALENTINE'S DAY BOOKS AND BEYOND ADVENTURES

                                          VPK CLUB  ( LIMITED TO 18 VPK CHILDREN) 

JANUARY 7TH:  THE SNOWY DAY-- We'll explore fluffy "snow" and create puffy paint winter scenes inspired by Peter's snowy adventure. 

JANUARY 14TH:  THERE WAS AN COLD LADY THAT SWALLOWED SOME SNOW-- Children will make a collage of the story items and practice sequencing the order of events from this silly winter tale.

JANUARY 21ST:  TACKY THE PENGUIN-- Tacky is one-of-a-kind, and so are his outfits! Students will design Tacky's wild, colorful shirts, encouraging creativity and individuality.  

​JANUARY 28THTH:  NO CLASS THIS WEEK DUE TO A STAFF MEETING.  

FEBRUARY 4TH :  THE DAY IT RAINED HEARTS-- Just like Cornelia Augusta, we'll decorate special hearts to give to classmates and friends- a sweet celebration of kindness and sharing.

FEBRUARY 11TH:  HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, MOUSE!-- Children will explore simple color mixing as they blend red and white to make different shades of pink for their Valentine creations.

FEBRUARY 18TH: TEN BLACK DOTS-- Inspired by this counting classic, children will use 10 black dots to create their own picture and practice simple math skills like counting, adding, and comparing quantities. ​LAST CLASS FOR THIS SESSION.
