CLUB WEDNESDAY ART

On Wednesdays we offer an after-school, structured art program that includes lunch from home and an art lesson with a project. We cover everything from musical movement to abstract art to bubble painting. Class starts at 12:15 on Wednesdays, and the creativity continues until 1:30 p.m. The fee for each 6-week session, including supplies, is $85.00. Enrollment is limited to the first 18 children to register each session. The session is available to children enrolled in our 3 Year Old or VPK Program.

LUNCH-N-LONGER

Lunch-n-Longer is a program that extends your child’s day until 2:15. The LNL program offers the children additional playtime, a movie and lunch with their friends on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The fee is $50.00 per month for each day of the week your child is enrolled in the LNL program. The fee of $50.00 is fixed for each month September through May. There are no changes in payment for months with holidays, bad weather, vacation time or illnesses. This is a pro-rated amount divided among the total number of Lunch-n-Longer days for the school year. If there is availability, LNL can be added on a daily basis for $15.00. You may drop LNL at the end of a month but no refunds will be given if dropped during a month.

Lunch Guidelines

Lunch time is a fun social learning activity, that will give your child important social skills. We work very hard to help your child learn how to independently eat their lunch in a set period of time, from opening their lunch box to cleaning up their lunch spot.

We have a set time for lunch and a lot to do in that period of time. Please, keep in mind these few things when preparing your child's lunch?

Please make sure your child's lunchbox has a WUCP name tag on it.
ALL WATER BOTTLES MUST BE PACKED INSIDE THE LUNCHBOX OR IN THE ATTACHED SIDE POCKET TO KEEP IT FROM GETTING SEPARATED FROM THE LUNCHBOX. No loose water bottles will be accepted.
Your child's lunch should have everything your child will need, especially a drink (juice box, juice pouch or water bottle). Other necessary items include disposable forks, spoons, drink straws and napkins. If you are sending in prepackaged items, it is helpful to put in an extra sandwich size ziplock bag in your child's lunchbox to bring home unfinished portions. You can just leave the bag in your child's lunchbox to use when they need it. Please do not send carbonated drinks or any items in glass containers.
We will encourage your child to eat their healthy food first. We start with our protein or main part of their lunch and then fruits and vegetables, yogurt or other healthy items.
Per DCF, FCCPSA and WUC Preschool: Foods that are associated with young children's choking incidents must not be served to preschool children, such as, but not limited to, whole/round hot dogs, popcorn, pretzel nuggets, whole grapes, whole cherry tomatoes, nuts, cheese cubes and any food that is of similar shape and size of the trachea/windpipe. Grapes and strawberries can be served; however, they must be cut into pieces of 1/2 inch or smaller to prevent choking. If you pack any of the items listed above in your child's lunchbox, without cutting into 1/2 inch or smaller, they will not be permitted to eat it at school.

Your child will have approximately 25 minutes to eat their lunch. This is a very social time for our boys and girls. Please limit the number of items in your child's lunch. Often, too many choices can be overwhelming.

Please practice opening baggies and any containers or packages that you will be sending in your child's lunch. This includes juice boxes and water bottles. Of course, we are happy to help, but the pride a child feels when they can "do it by themselves" is priceless!

After School Programs

Club Tuesday

On Tuesdays, Club Tuesday offers the children an after-school themed program that includes lunch from home and a project. Some exciting themes include Muscles & Motion, Science, and Art. Class starts at 12:15 on Tuesdays and the creativity continues until 2:00 pm. The fee for each 4-week session, including supplies, is $70.00. Enrollment is limited to the first 18 children to register each session. The session is available to children enrolled in our 3 Year old and VPK program.

CLUB WEDNESDAY SCIENCE

On Wednesdays we offer an after-school, structured science lab/lesson that includes lunch from home. Labs cover experimentation, exploration, observation and discovery. We cover everything from magnets and measuring to bugs and plants. The fee for each 6-week session, including supplies, is $85.00. Enrollment is limited to the first 18 children to register each session. The session is available to children enrolled in our 3 Year Old or VPK Program.
